It's official - the baby is coming April 1st (unless of course he decides he wants to come a little earlier)! We saw the doctor on Monday and we're scheduled to be at the hospital at 6:30am on Friday, April 1. First, after we get settled and they monitor the baby for a bit, Dr. Evans will try to turn the baby, called versioning, from his comfy frank breech position. There is a 50% success rate. If the versioning is successful, they'll induce labor. If they're unable to turn the baby, they'll schedule a c-section for the same day. So it's a little up in the air as to how he will arrive, but we know we'll be holding him in a few days! We're very excited! I've been preparing myself for a c-section so much so that I find myself planning on having one. Of course I'd be more than happy to be induced instead.
I believe we're ready to welcome the new baby into the world. We just need to get Luke packed to stay with my parents while we're at the hospital, and Jim still needs to pack. We've been trying to enjoy these last few days as just us three...soon our family dynamic will be rocked to the core. It'll be interesting to see how Luke will handle the new baby. We've been trying to prepare him by talking about the baby and including him in prepping for the baby...but it's hard to say how much he truly understands.
Anyways, here are a few pictures from the past week or so.
Aunt Jess and Luke playing a game on dad's new iPad. Soon Luke will be better at using all the gadgets than we are!
Luke in his new "big boy" room. He's been sleeping in his "big boy" bed for a week and a 1/2 now and has been doing great! He also loves the "ABCs" (hence the wall decals) and can sing most of it with us...as well as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".
He's such a guy - ha!
Last Friday at 38 weeks! As you can probably tell baby hasn't dropped very much....which is normal for breech babies. So my lung capacity feels teeny!
