Iowa tailgating 2012

This past weekend we traveled to Cedar Falls to visit Grandma and Grandpa Swanson and to tailgate for the Iowa football game.  Grandpa Neil and Jim started tailgating mid-morning.  The girls, kids and I headed down after Brady's nap.  We had great weather on Saturday.  It was perfect when the sun was out, but got a little chilly when the clouds came out.  Jim and G-pa Neil went to the game while the rest of us went back to the house to watch in the warmth with pizza.  It was a bad game.... but otherwise it was a great weekend!
We stopped at my BFF, Kacie's house to see her and her family.  It was a quick visit but it was great to see them!
Brady eating Luke's leftover cake.  Luke never eats al his meal, so Brady always climbs into his chair when he's done and snacks on his leftovers.

The boys before we headed out of town.  Luke was so excited to get there...so it was a loong drive!  Brady slept most of the way.

Luke had fun jumping between the curbs.  He loves showing us how far and high he can jump :)

Pumpkin Patch and Babysitting Ella

When Mary Jo, Neil and Tara visited us a couple weeks ago we visited a local pumpkin patch.  The boys had a great time!  They also had fun wrestling with Grandpa and playing with Grandma and Tara.

So excited for the pumpkin patch!
The pumpkin patch had lots of fun things to play on

Brady loves feeding himself applesauce!
Brady's first time wearing footie jammies this season.  He wasn't so sure about it....he was trying to pull the feet off.  But  he soon forgot about it. :)

Last weekend had the pleasure of watching Ella.  We had so much fun, she was such a good girl!  She is smiling and laughing...the boys loved having her around.
Silly kids!

Brady - 18 months

Time sure flies when you're having fun! Especially when that fun involves constantly keeping an eye on an 18 month old that NEVER stops moving. I can't believe Brady is 18 months and Luke is almost 4!!
Brady got 5 shots last week at his appointment. :( He weighed in at 27 lbs 2oz (67 percentile), 34 inches (90 percentile) and head was about 60 percentile.
Here are a few notables for 18 months:
- favorite foods include bananas, applesauce (loves eating on his own with a spoon), spaghetti, toodler foods pouches (mashes up fruit, veggies, etc) and anything sweet. He'll eat about anything though!
- Mimics everyone - vacuuming, sweeping, laundry, dishes. Hopefully his love for housework sticks!
- Brady is most definitely a mama’s boy. He doesn’t like when I leave the room; he is my little shadow. Which probably explains how he’s picked up on all the housework.
- When Brady does sit still, he’s a great cuddler.
- Has a new-found love for pumpkins. He squeels “bom bom” whenever he sees one and tries to pick them up. The small ones he likes to throw like a ball. He gets mad at me when I don’t let him pick up the neighbors pumpkins.
- Loves to irritate his brother. But also loves to play and wrestle with him and Dad.
- Is so gentle with dogs and babies. He likes giving Alfred hugs when Alfred will let him near.
- Laughs at me when I tell him “no”. uh oh…. When he knows I’m really serious, his bottom lip sticks out and he usually cries.
Ready for the Walk to End Alzheimer's 2012!
Luke skinned both knees and wouldn't hardly walk for a day or two...very dramatic!
