Early Mornings

Hello! It's sure been a tiring week at our house! Luke has not been sleeping well this past week. He's been a good sleeper for awhile now, sleeping through the night, but recently he's been waking up around 10 or 11pm and (being lazy) we'll bring him to our bed and he sleeps all night. We're trying to break the habit of just bringing him into our bed, and have found that if we close his bedroom door he'll go back to sleep pretty quickly. Saturday he was wide awake at 4am! So we were all in bed early on Saturday night. :)
Interestingly, I have read that when a toddler starts walking more, their sleep habits are disrupted...they wake more and just don't sleep as well at night. And in the past few days Luke has been walking the majority of the time! He does a great job, and is very cautious...but when he gets close to his "destination" he speeds up. :)
We planned to get Luke a haircut this weekend....but naps took precedence so we'll have to do it next weekend.
"More snack please!"

Notice what Luke is standing on?

Luke was helping me organize the cupboards and decided he wanted to sit in the salad bowl :)
So comfy!
Trying to capture how long Luke's hair is getting

Our little Valentine

Grandma and Grandpa Swanson visited us this past weekend. We had lots of fun and Luke enjoyed all the attention! Here are a few pictures (stolen from Mary Jo :) ) of the weekend.

More reading!

Look at those teeth! Luke enjoyed having his grandparents keeping him company in the back seat.
Having some fun at Nebraska Furniture Mart.

Tigger from Aunt Tara

Luke "found" one of the stuffed Tiggers that his Aunt Tara gave him awhile back and he's been playing with it more and more. Today he was looking at Tigger's face and just started laughing...it was so funny! Here are a few pictures of Luke and Tigger. Thanks Tara!!

January

Sorry we haven't posted anything new in awhile. We are happy that January is over - it always seems to drag by! Spring is just around the corner (well, that's what I like to think :) ) Luke is gradually gaining confidence to walk on his own -- he can walk on his own, he just chooses not to most of the time. But if we tell him to "stand up and walk", he will do it. I'll have to post video of it soon. He now knows what "upstairs" means and loves going up and down our stairs. Luke has a couple more teeth...they seem to be coming in one after the other. Luckily cutting teeth doesn't usually seem to bother him too much. He just usually wakes up a couple times in the middle of the night...which usually ends in Jim sleeping on the floor and Luke sleeping in our bed with me. :) I don't mind it, but Luke can be such a bed hog!

My sleepy boys

I gave Luke an almost-empty box of Cheerios, then stepped out of the room for 30 seconds and came back to this! Alfred makes a good vacuum :)

Checking out Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's new house
Snack time for the Vikings fans!

Luke loves pasta - spagetti, lasagna, mac & cheese...any and all pasta
Jim's Viking cake - very yummy!
Nap time!
Uh oh! Luke (and Grandpa Johnson) were playing with a couple of my nail polish bottles. Luke somehow dropped one on top of the other and bright pink nail polish spilled on the carpet! It's Karma - I spilled bright red nail polish on my parent's carpet when I was little. Like mother, like son :)
