Merry Christmas 2010!

We had a great Christmas this year! We opened our presents on the 22nd before heading to the Swanson's on Dec. 23rd. While in Cedar Rapids we got a beautiful snow fall (about 9 inches I think), and Luke and Jim had a lot of fun playing in the snow. We had a great time hanging out, opening presents and of course eating lots!
On Christmas day we headed back to Omaha and celebrated Christmas at the Johnson's. By this time Luke knew what all the presents under the tree were for...and couldn't wait to open them! We spent a lot of time playing "What?", a fun new game Jessica and Adam brought. We spent the night and Jim made us Star Wars pancakes (a Christmas gift).
We had a great time celebrating Christmas with everyone...and we're looking forward to 2011!

Christmas prep & 2-year pictures

Luke is at a great age to enjoy some holiday festivities. We visited Santa (not too closely), decorated Christmas cookies, and Luke loves driving around and looking at all the pretty lights! When we put presents wrapped in Mickey Mouse paper under the tree he threw a fit when he couldn't open them...our mistake! We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with our families in the upcoming days!
Baby Swanson is doing well! My tummy seems to be growing bigger by the day and I love feeling him moving around and kicking. I'll be in my third trimester in a couple weeks...he'll be before we know it!

We took Luke to mom's work where Santa and Mrs. Clause were visiting. Luke only liked Santa from afar...no way were we getting him to sit on Santa's lap! He liked Mrs. Clause, she wasn't as scary. :)
Coloring and making a picture frame with Grandma!
Luke kept saying "No Santa" when we got too close.
Luke enjoying his new bike during a warmer-than-usual afternoon. He loves his new bike!
We visited the Durham museum - an old depot. Luke loved all the real choo choo trains!
Amanda and Luke at the depot
Luke and Dad coloring - Luke loves to color, especially in his Toy Story coloring book. :)
Here are some professional pictures we had taken for Luke's 2-year birthday and for our Christmas cards.

Happy 2nd Birthday Luke!

We celebrated Luke's 2nd birthday last Saturday. He had a great time! We were lucky that both his grandparents and all of his aunts and uncles came to his Mickey Mouse party. It was a lot of fun. I wish we would've gotten a picture of the whole group - I need to be better about getting pictures of everyone, not just Luke, ha! Luke was happy to show off the Mickey decorations and loved all his new toys. I can't believe Luke is two already...he's growing up so fast! He's talking so much and mimicking us a lot. He's such a sweetheart and we have so much fun with him.

Luke raked the entire yard all by himself :)
Dad bought Luke his own shovel - just his size!

One last mow for the year
Luke his a big help in the kitchen! He loves helping me bake - here we're making his birthday cupcakes.
And he even washes dishes! This is his new favorite game...he pulls the chair up to the sink and wants to play w/ the water.
Mmm!
Luke pointing out some of his Mickey decorations. Luke now says his name...."Yuke", it's adorable :) He also loves to say "mine"...

We had a great Thanksgiving and my Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's...it's always so much fun getting together with all of my aunts, uncles, cousins and their kids! Plus the food was awesome as usual! :)

It's a BOY!

We found out yesterday we're going to have a boy! We are thrilled! He is heathly and right on track growth-wise. We think he has the same nose as Luke...simply adorable. Here are some pictures from the ultrasound. His face was squished up against my uterus so it was hard to get a good look at his face.
Luke's birthday is next Saturday....I can't believe my baby is going to be 2!

November already?!

Hello! I know, it's been awhile since I've posted anything. Our October was very busy and then our camera broke so I'm unable to download or take any pictures. :( So I've "stolen" some pictures from some family members. We were in Iowa City for Iowa games a couple times, Des Moines for Neil's birthday, Jim went to San Francisco to visit Bryce and Grant, we had our bi-annual Johnson Hayride...it's been a fun fall!
The pregnancy is going well...I'm about 19 weeks and next week we are getting an ultrasound to find out what we're having. We're very excited! I've been feeling the baby moving/kicking for a couple weeks, which I love. I was trying to teach Luke that I have a baby in my tummy and he misunderstood....thinking that a tiny mole on my stomach is called "baby". Now any mole or freckle he sees on himself, me, Jim he calls it a "baby". Opps! He also calls any real babies or toddlers "baby", so hopefully I don't have him too confused! haha!
Luke's favorite new game is playing football with dad...throwing the ball, running around, tackling. He's so much fun!

Luke was a giraffe for halloween. He came to my work to trick-or-treat...he liked collecting the candy, but LOVED the little football a co-worker got him....he was throwing it all over the office while yelling "go football!"
During the last Iowa game, we met up with my good friend Kacie and her family, including her son Danny. Luke and Danny had fun playing in the back of the truck.
In early October we met the Swanson's in Des Moines to celebrate Neil's birthday. Luke is very much a grandpa's boy towards both his grandpa's. He had fun hanging out with Grandpa Neil all weekend.
The bi-annual Johnson hayride was a great time! Amanda and Mom won the 3-legged race, woohoo!

Luke loved the trike, he did not want to let the other kids ride it :)

Happy October!

Last weekend we were in Iowa for a game and to see Jim's family. Luke and Grandpa had fun with the crown Luke got from the restaurant.
