Life's a Beach

Last weekend we hung out at my parent's beach for the first time this year.  It was perfect beach weather - sunny, 80 degrees and just a slight breeze...in late March!  It was Brady's first time being able to play on the beach.  Last year he was too little to be out in the sun very much...so when he was outside with us he was under the tent in a bouncy seat.  He wasn't to sure about the sand at first...but warmed up to it fast!

Taking a stroll in the sand.  This didn't last too long...he wasn't quite sure about the funny stuff under his feet.

Luke couldn't wait to go play on the beach!
Brady got brave enough to step off of the towel

"hmmm...what is this stuff??"

"it's kind of fun!"

"I want to taste it!"  Grandma was quick to help get the sand out of his mouth! It did not taste very good!

Now we're in trouble!

Luke loved getting buried in the sand!

Rinsing off outside
Jessica (and her cute baby bump @ almost 29 weeks) making a crib skirt

Amanda and I made some "poms" for Brady's birthday party

Luke helped Amanda and Jess make the crib skirt

while Brady got out all of Grandma's cook books :)

Planning dinner

Working on the crib skirt - it turned out ADORABLE!

Four generations of Johnsons

Last weekend my grandparent's came to Omaha to celebrate my dad's birthday.  We ate at Applebee's and headed out to my parents for cake.  Brady has discovered mom's book shelf in the kitchen, tuperware drawer and other cabinets.  The kitchen was an obstacle course after Brady had his fun!

First trip to the park

Last Saturday was a beautiful sunny day so I took the boys to the park near our house (Jim had to work:( ). It was Brady's first trip to the park being old enough to play! He swang for a bit and went down the slide on my lap... He loved it! Luke liked playing pirate ship on the playground equipment. It was a great first trip to the park this year!

Dentist

Last week Luke had his first visit to the dentist. We talked about it for about a week but the morning of the appointment he did not want to go. He whined and fussed the whole way there... Then I had to carry him inside because he refused to go inside on his own. Once inside he got engrossed in the toys and when it was his turn to go back he was fine. He did awesome! The have Tvs in the ceiling; so he watched Mickey mouse with headphones on. His teeth look great! I was so proud of Luke, he did wonderful!

Fun in KC!

Last weekend we visited Nate and Jenny in KC.  Grandma Jo and Grandpa Neil were also visiting.  We had a great time!  On Saturday we went to the Johnson County Museum and they have a kids play area with several different rooms for kids to play pretend.  Luke loved it!!  We had to bribe him to go by promising to take him to the dinosaur restaurant. :)

 Farmer Brady :)
Brady really likes to walk around while holding our hands now.

Luke had a lot of fun playing "store"...it must run in his blood. :)

Farmer Luke

Luke made Brady and I some cookies, bacon and bread at the old fashioned house.  Mmmm!

The four of us - Luke loved pretending to pump his own water

Luke and I at the dinosaur restaurant.  It reminded us of the Rainforest Cafe, only with Dinosaurs...it was pretty cool.

Luke really wanted me to get these sunglasses for him :)

My good little shoppers.

Brady loves spagetti!  This picture of Brady reminded me of the picture of Luke (below) so I had to find it.  Luke was about 12 months - Brady is 11 months.  Both very messy eaters at this age! :)

I walked into the room and Luke was cuddling Brady while he drank his bottle - such a good big brother!
