Grandma & Showers (but no baths!)

Mary Jo came and stayed with Luke for a couple days last week. They both had a blast and wore each other out! Mary Jo took Luke on lots of walks to the park…now whenever he sees his stroller in the garage he throws a fit if we don’t take him for a walk. Thanks for coming and taking care of Luke, Mary Jo!
As Jessica and Adam’s wedding gets closer there are more and more showers to attend! She’s had two…and there are three more to go. I think they’ll have to register for more or they won’t have enough on their registries for wedding gifts!
We think Luke is going through a “fear” phase….he’s suddenly terrified of baths, which he used to love. And we can’t get him to sleep in his crib, so he’s been sleeping on blankets on his bedroom floor (we figure that’s better than sleeping in our bed). We are hoping these are both phases that will pass over soon. He’s saying more and more words and mimicking us more and more (like slapping his head after I slap mine to kill a mosquito and saying “ho ho ho” in a deep voice like Adam).
We are looking forward to celebrating Amanda’s college graduation and her birthday this weekend at the lake!

One of Luke and Alfred's favorite games....Luke sprays Alfred (and himself) w/ the hose and Alfred likes "chasing" the water

"twins"!

Garage Raising

Last weekend we spent the weekend at Jim's parents with his sisters, uncles and great-grandma Swanson. We had a blast and Luke loved all the attention! Although he was a little weary of all the new faces. Jim, Neil, Nate, and his uncles Jeff and Dave worked on building a storage garage between rain showers all weekend. It was a lot of work and they got a lot done. Below are some pictures from the weekend.

Great-Grandma Swanson got on the floor to play with Luke
Grandma Jo found some wood scraps for Luke to play with

Luke wanted to help the guys!

Luke was really interested in the riding mower....until Jim took him for a ride - he cried the whole time! I think it was a little too loud...

May 2010

It's been awhile since we've posted anything new, so this is a picture-heavy post!

A few weeks ago, my best friend Kacie, her 15-month old son, Danny and her husband, Nate, can and visited. We had a fun weekend and enjoyed watching Danny and Luke interact.

Jessica's wedding dress came in so she tried it on for Kacie. The boys had fun with all the stages and mirrors! And Jessica looked beautiful!
It's not easy getting a good picture of a couple one-year olds!

Dad, Jim, Graham and Amanda at Johnson Beach :)
Luke with his swim gear on
Luke and Dad riding on the boat. Luke likes to point at boats and say "boat"...it's so cute!
Jim, Luke and I visited Jenny and Nate in their new home. Luke had lots of fun in their swimming pool.
Aunt Jessica and Luke eating a snack
The first time we used mom and dad's new deck furniture we had to screw a loose bolt in. Since then, Luke likes to walk around with the wrench and "fix" the chairs on the deck. He's such a handyman!
Yummy ice cream!
Luke and I had been a little under the weather so I was checking our temps. He then decided that he needed to check everyone else's temp - Alfred, Jim, stuffed animals, Little People Animals.... :)
